Zucchini diet


Zucchini is a product with a huge number of health benefits. It is one of the most low-calorie vegetables. It consists of water more than for 90%. 100 g of fresh zucchini contains only 18-27 calories and that’s why it is widely used in diets for weight loss.

Zucchini includes large amounts of potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamins C, B1, B3. In the addition, there are dietary fiber, flavonoids and antioxidants in this vegetable. Zucchini outputs the excess water from the body, and thus it helps to fight cellulite. Moreover, zucchini is useful in a number of diseases that accompany obesity. Such diseases can be diabetes, heart diseases, ailments of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and gallbladder. Such stars as Catherine Deneuve, Sophia Loren, Alain Delon and Margaret Thatcher used zucchini in their methods for weight loss.

It is recommended to use zucchini of dark green color for the diet. Zucchini shouldn’t be peeled for the cooking. Peel contains great amounts of trace elements and vitamins which are necessary for our body. This is not a mono-diet, and it is allowed to use other fruits and vegetables – carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, bell peppers, apples, kiwi, plums, berries. Also you should use protein products, particularly fish and poultry. And as a frequent rule of any diet is elimination from the ration such products as sugar, confectionery, alcohol, coffee, dairy products, sausages, potatoes, smoked products and baked goods.

Such a diet helps to lose 2 – 2,5 pounds per week and may last from week to month.

The approximate menu:

Breakfast: 250 g of stewed zucchini, a glass of green tea.

Snack: an apple, a glass of water.

Lunch: 300 g of baked zucchini, 200 g of boiled meat, kiwi fruit, a cup of green tea.

Snack: 250 g of baked zucchini, 150 g of cabbage-carrot salad, a glass of apple juice.

Dinner: 2-3 plums, a glass of apple juice.
