Everybody knows if you want to keep yourself in good shape you need to drink plenty of fluids. But not any liquid may be useful – coffee, tea and soda won’t work. Fruit drinks are very helpful in this case. Spring is a time of avitaminosis, when the body especially is in dire need of vitamins and proper nutrition. Consumption of fruit drinks is a perfect solution. They strengthen our body; struggle with the viruses, improve immunity, give vigor and energy. Fruit drinks are traditionally made of berries, which contain a lot of vitamins, organic acids, minerals and many other useful items for the organism. They include vitamin C, provitamin A – beta carotene, vitamin B, and PP; such microelements as calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium and phosphorus.

But the consumption of these drinks also has its own rules. You should monitor the acidity of gastric juice in the body. If it is reduced or normal, you can drink fruit drinks for half an hour or 40 minutes before meal; if the acidity is increased – for 1.5 hours.

Cranberry juice is a leader among the most useful drinks. The content of vitamin C in cranberries exceeds the amount of it in oranges, lemons and grapefruits. Furthermore it has vitamins B, PP, K1. Cranberry contains such substances as potassium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, manganese and copper. Cranberry juice improves appetite and digestion, increases the production of gastric and pancreatic juice which leads to a cure for gastritis. It is an excellent help with angina, colds, hypertension.

One of the recipes of such fruit drink is in following – 125 grams of cranberry, 75 grams of honey and 800 grams of water. Rinse cranberries and squash with a wooden spoon. The resulting mass should be squeezed through cheesecloth; and put the resulting juice in a cold place. Pour the remains of berries with hot water and boil for 5-10 minutes. Strain it and mix with the squeezed juice. Then add the honey and leave to become cooled. This drink is very useful and tasty, it will also help you to withdraw toxins from the body and energize you!

Cranberry juice is a drink from the golden piggy bank of recipes of our grandmothers and it will always be actual in our family! I often make such juices as a treatment for colds and to maintain immunity for my child. He likes it, because it’s actually very tasty, and I don’t have to feed him up with unnecessary pills of multivitamins.
