Green tea

American Journal of Clinical Nutrition claims that 4 cups of green tea per day help a person to lose more than 2.7 kg in 8 weeks. Institute of Physiology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland has conducted special research and found out that consumption of green tea increases thermogenesis as well as energy expenditure and fat burning.

The whole grains

When the organism is working on digestion of whole grain products, it burns twice as many calories, especially rich in cellular tissue – such as oatmeal and brown rice. Cellular tissue makes sense of satiety more quickly and remains in the stomach for longer than other substances. It slows down the rate of digestion. Due to the large content of cellular tissue, one serving of whole grain bread provides more satiety than two servings of white bread.


One cup of lentils provides 35% of the daily requirement of organism for iron. 20% of people have iron deficiency, so nutritionists advise to make up the shortage of vitamins by consuming this product. Because if we don’t have enough nutrients, the metabolism slows down its work; and this provokes extra kilos.

Lean meat

Lean meat is a protein. Protein has a high thermogenic effect: during the digestive process you burn about 30% of calories. So if you eat a 300-calorie chicken breast, the body needs about 90 calories to digest it.

Low fat dairy products

Dairy products are rich in calcium and vitamin D. Due to these qualities, they help to preserve and build muscle mass, necessary to maintain the metabolism at a high level.

Hot pepper

Chili pepper contains such a substance as capsaicin. It is a compound that warms the body and helps to burn excess calories. Nutritionists say that it will be useful to use it in any form – fresh, dried or ground pepper will give a positive result. You’ll lose weight without much effort if you just add pepper or hot sauce to soups and meat.
