Diet of Joan Lunden

Joan LundenJoan Lunden, a popular American actress and TV presenter, has always maintained herself in great shape thanks to a special diet. This is a fruit diet, designed for 3 days, during which you can lose about 3 excess kilos.

It is an excellent option for weight loss as the fruits included into ration of the diet are rich in vitamins, minerals and cellular tissue. All this helps to cleanse the body, improve condition of skin, hair and nails. Furthermore, they activate metabolism and are involved in the breakdown of fats.

While dieting, during these three days, you should eliminate from your menu sweet and spicy dishes, soups and side dishes, as well as any alcohol. It is recommended to drink water without gas, herbal teas or green tea in amount of at least 2 liters a day.

The list of permitted products includes: boiled fish, a small amount of lean meat, turkey, low-fat yogurt and a lot of fruit in any form of preparation – in their natural form, in the form of fruit salad or juice with pulp. You can choose fruit to your taste, the main thing is to give preference to unsweetened varieties. Joan Lunden prefers oranges, kiwi and green apples.

Menu of the diet:

First day

Breakfast – half a cup of low-fat yogurt and half of medium-sized melon.

Lunch – fruit salad of kiwi, orange and a handful of strawberries, seasoned with low-fat yogurt.

Dinner – 170 grams of lean turkey or chicken; fresh vegetable salad, seasoned with lemon juice; 2 plums and half a grapefruit for dessert.

Second day

Breakfast – half a cup of any cereal flakes mixed with a cup of fresh berries.

Lunch – 2-3 slices of pineapple.

Dinner – 170 grams of turkey breast; 1 orange and 2 nectarines for dessert.

Third day

Breakfast – 2-3 slices of watermelon and 1 cup of dietary vanilla yogurt.

Lunch – puree from 1 cup of fresh strawberries and pulp of 1 banana, seasoned with apple juice or salad made of these fruits.

Dinner – 170 grams of boiled lean fish; 1 cup of Brussels sprouts and 1 cup of fruit yogurt for dessert.

This is one of those diets which are easy to follow and you do not need to count calories. It is light and tasty, so it won’t be hard to comply with it within three days. However, you should take into account that the diet is not balanced, therefore it is not recommended to stick to it more than 3 days. If necessary, you can repeat it in a couple of weeks.
