Orange diet

orange-dietCaloric content of oranges is only 36 calories per 100 grams of the product. Orange contains vitamins A, B1, B2, C, PP, and such minerals as magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, calcium and iron. Oranges are useful for the organism as a whole and for the digestive, endocrine, cardiovascular and nervous systems in particular. Addition to all these useful properties – orange perfectly cleans the body and promotes weight loss. It should be noted that Italian scientists proved – the Sicilian (red or blood) orange is especially well suited for this purpose.

This diet helps to lose weight for 10-15 kg and lasts for 3 weeks. Don’t be afraid that you have to eat only oranges, although they are very tasty, but it’s too hard. We should eat them only five days a week, on weekends you can eat as usual. From the second week – you can add buckwheat without butter and salt into your ration. On the third – stewed or steamed vegetables. You can also replace the orange by grapefruit.

First week: 1 kilo of oranges, two eggs and two liters of non-carbonated mineral water per day.

Second week: 1 kilo of oranges, any cereal in unlimited quantities without oil and salt (preferably – buckwheat and rice), two liters of mineral water without gas for a day.

Third week: kilo of oranges, fruit and vegetables in any quantity, a liter of pure water a day.

During the diet, it is extremely needed to exclude alcohol, drinks containing caffeine (except green tea), smoking and hard physical activity. It is recommended to undergo a course of massage and take a hot bath weekly or visit sauna. This variant is very hard for the organism, and before using it is better to consult with your doctor.


red-orangeThere is another variant of the orange diet which is targeted for two weeks and helps to get rid of 7-8 kg of excess weight.

The main rule of this diet – every morning you should eat: 1 orange or grapefruit; 1 cracker; tea or coffee without sugar and milk.

The approximate menu for the first day:

Day: orange, boiled egg, two cups of yogurt or kefir, two crackers.

Evening: a few tomatoes, two boiled eggs, lettuce, a couple of crackers, orange or grapefruit.

For the next two days you should replace eggs by low-fat boiled beef. The next two days instead of beef you should use cottage cheese, the next day – fish. Thereafter, the cycle resumes. Fish and meat should be steamed or baked in the oven without oil.

Such diets are contraindicated for people who are prone to allergies and people with problems of the gastrointestinal tract.
