What do we remember about England? “Your oatmeal, Sir!” What do they eat out there except the oatmeal?
I don’t know for sure if this diet really has come to us from England, but it is known as “English”. The main point of this diet is in the alternation of protein and vegetables. It is quite strict, but promises to get rid of the extra 15 pounds and lasts 20-21 days. The hardest part of this diet is patience during the first “hungry” days. A mandatory rule is a strict consecution of the schedule. Get ready to exclude from your ration such products as alcohol, sodas, sugar, baked goods, potatoes. It is recommended to take one tablet of multivitamins everyday.
So, the approximate menu is as follows:
during the “hungry” days – 1 liter of milk, 1 cup tomato juice, 2 slices of black bread;
2 protein days:
Breakfast – a cup of coffee or milk, a slice of black bread, a teaspoon of butter, a teaspoon of honey;
Lunch – a plate of meat or fish broth, a piece of boiled meat or fish. You can add two tablespoons of peas and a slice of black bread;
Snack – a cup of tea with a teaspoon of honey;
Dinner – a piece of boiled meat or fish, or not fatty ham, or two eggs, 50 grams of cheese, a cup of yogurt with a piece of black bread.
2 vegetable days:
Breakfast – 2 apples and 2 oranges;
Lunch – vegetable soup without butter, a slice of black bread, salad;
Snack – 2 apples and 2 oranges;
Dinner – salad with a slice of black bread, 1 cup of tea with 1 teaspoon of honey.
So, you should alternate the protein and vegetable days. Days of “hunger” needn’t be repeated. Also, the dinner should be up to 7 pm.
Certainly, don’t experiment with such nutrition if you are suffering from chronic diseases.
This diet should not be used more than once a year and it is recommended to stop it rather slowly; so don’t look for fatty cakes on the 22-nd day!
