ABC diet (Traffic Light)
The specificity of this diet is that all the products are divided into certain groups: red, yellow and green. Therefore, it is called a traffic light. Diet is rather diverse, so it will be easy to stick to it. The main condition of this diet – nutrition should be frequent, 5-6 times a day in small portions to normalize the bowel function. At the same time it is allowed to eat after 6 PM. Alcoholic beverages such as vodka, martini, whiskey, dry and semi-sweet wines – are allowed, but in small quantities. So it will suit for lots of people.
“Green” group contains products that can be consumed at any time and in any amount: light yogurt and kefir, cabbage, lettuce, greens, cucumbers, carrots, citrus fruits, apples, boiled fish, seafood, buckwheat, olive and vegetable oil, boiled eggs (no more than 2 per day), bread with no yeast.
“Yellow” group includes lean meat and chicken, sausage, hot dogs, pasta, porridge on the water with the exception of semolina, cottage cheese, various pickles, fruit, dried fruit, pastries of puff pastry, ketchup, spices, chocolate, coffee. These products can be used only until 6 pm, and possibly 2-3 hours before bedtime.
“Red” group contains the products which are recommended to exclude from the ration. These foods are fatty meat, lard, fast food, white bread and flour containing yeast, milk, mayonnaise, sweets with cream, ice cream, soda, beer and champagne.
It is recommended to steam, boil or stew the dishes. This diet has no limitations in days; it is possible to follow it indefinitely for weight loss and weight maintenance. This diet, as well as the vegetarian one, is not even a diet but a way of the proper nutrition. Any physical activity is recommended and will definitely improve the results.
